Membership is open to professional editors in the book and magazine industry including translators and indexers. Membership also extends to those who create content within publications, broadcasting, digital media, legal services, communications and public relations, and academia.
Joining the SBMEN gives members the opportunity to belong to a community of like-minded professionals, learn, collaborate and network. Membership in the SBMEN positions individuals to attain the heights of editorial competence, validate their skills and capacity to work globally, and advance the objectives of the society.
Anyone can join the Society without a degree in Arts or Publishing, background in book and magazine publishing or basic training in proofreading and copy-editing.
