SBMEN courses follow an editorial curriculum that is designed to increase an editor’s knowledge and proficiency. The courses cover subjects in language, aspects of editing, and the interface between writing and publishing, and more that are based on global publishing practices. It also covers subjects on business practice for freelance editors to improve their businesses. At the end of the training, participants will learn, improve their skills, network with other editors and enjoy opportunities from our job listings.
Industry professionals from publishing and other areas of media will facilitate the workshops and monitor participants’ performance, especially the beginners, as it usually takes around 18 months to 2 years of practice before competence is achieved. Workshop fees for each course covers training, course materials and refreshments. These fees are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances.
SBMEN provides custom training to private and public organisations to meet their specific needs. We can provide training in business communications, business writing, editorial management, and general writing skills for personal and career development.
The SBMEN seeks facilitators for courses in fiction writing/editing, nonfiction writing/editing, ghostwriting, technical editing/writing, copyediting, proofreading, instructional design, scientific/medical editing, grammar, project management, and business topics such as marketing, pricing, accounting, running your business successfully, and much more.
