About SBMEN Courses
SBMEN courses follow a curriculum – evaluated by its four-member board and standards committee – that is designed to increase an editor’s knowledge and proficiency. The workshops hold four times in a year, every quarter. They take place during a two-day period, except for special circumstances. At the end of the training year, participants should have acquired or improved their editing skills, gained expert knowledge and enjoyed personal networking opportunities. See training workshop calendar.
About Custom Training
SBMEN provides custom or private training to private and public organisations to meet their specific needs in their facilities. We can provide training in business communications, business writing, editorial management, project management and general writing skills for personal and career development, among others.
Workshop fees for every workshop covers the cost of training, course materials and refreshments. These fees are non-refundable, except in exceptional circumstances. Workshop fees may vary from workshop to workshop. Announcements will be made at least 4 weeks before the workshop, during registration. See training workshop calendar.
SBMEN facilitators are industry professionals drawn from publishing and other areas of media with at least eight years’ experience. They are involved in monitoring participants’ performance, especially the beginners, as it usually takes from 18 months to 2 years of practice before competence is achieved.
