Course Objectives

This course brings together the study of creative writing and critical theory in a holistic and engaging way. Editors/writers must understand the elements of storytelling and criticism to recognise it in their work and improve their craft. Discussions and exercises will be based on non-fiction excerpts.

What will I learn?

• Develop ideas, voice, writing techniques and craft, through practice and critiquing work in progress.
• Articulate your critical understanding of complex ideas
• Engage closely with a critical essay, analysing its argument, implications, and rhetorical style
