Muhtar BakareChairman of the Board
Muhtar Bakare is publisher of Kachifo Limited, an independent publishing company, which has produced award-winning authors. He also served as the managing director of Person Education Publishing Limited Nigeria, the leading education services provider in the world. His professional career spans many years of executive experience. He started out in the banking industry at Citibank Nigeria where he received a certificate of long service for his contributions to the company. He later served as an executive director at Trust Bank of Africa (now Sterling Bank).
He led a team in the creation of the editorial department of leading Nigerian Newspaper NEXT. He currently sits on several boards including PurpleMoney Microfinance Bank Limited. Mr Bakare is a graduate of Architecture, from Obafemi Awolowo University, and the Senior Executive Programme for Africa from Harvard University and Wits Business Schools. He is a fellow of the African Leadership Initiative West Africa, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.
