The SBMEN calendar of events includes a list of its activities for the year such as workshops, networking events, among others. All events are open to the public, except events that are limited to only members.

Training Schedule for 2024

Training workshops are now available in short courses and extended courses. We have increased our courses from four (4) to eight (8) courses per year. The quarterly editing courses will continue to be held four times a year for four (4) weekends (one month). The short courses will be held four (4) times a year for a duration of two (2) days. Networking Events

Our networking events are opportunities to connect with stakeholders across industries to advance the careers of editorial professionals. Here are a list of our other learning activities and events:

• Editors’ Freelance Clinic: These consulting sessions holds two times a year for members to get first-hand knowledge from experts on business and editorial matters. Members get a chance to interact with like-minded professionals, learn, collaborate and find opportunities.

• Information Sessions: These are informal meetings held at institutions, organisations and centres to interact and share information about the association with potential members, and the opportunities it offers. These sessions also serve to promote the editing community.

• Townhall Meeting: Our annual townhall meeting holds once a year with editorial professionals and publishers to discuss advance capacity building in the industry.
