Course Objectives

This course serves as a foundation to budding and aspiring editors looking to understand the scope of managing editorial projects. It also serves as a refresher course to re-establish the basics for professional editors. During the course, there will be group work on a fictious project. There will also be practical reading assignments and class exercises to give them the skills to undertake tasks.

• Assess the scope, needs and risks of a project
• Set up processes to maintain and document progress and issues
• Produce a detailed and reliable schedule
• Create and maintain a project budget
